Home Blog American Breast Care: New Face of Inspiration Stories Released

The Face of Inspiration Campaign was created as a platform for survivors, by survivors. This year, ABC celebrates the 9th year of the Face of Inspiration Campaign/Contest! American Breast Care takes pride in providing a space that encourages compassion, motivation & celebration.

Submissions are welcome throughout the year and are continually updated on ABC’s website, Three new stories were just posted.

  • Belinda was first diagnosed in March 2016. She draws strength from her husband, family and church family. Throughout her journey, she continued to sing in her church’s praise team, even when she lost her hair. She wore hats or scarves to cover her head because she never wanted to appear “sick”. The congregation thought she was just making a fashion statement.
  • Laurel is a 20-year cancer survivor, who was first diagnosed when she was 40. She had a very large support system that included her family and church friends. She wanted to help someone else with their own journey, but little did she know it would be her 87-year-old mother.
  • Carmen recently learned that she had breast cancer when she went in for her annual mammogram. She underwent a mastectomy in October and chemotherapy after that. Thanks to support from her family and co-workers, she feels confident again.
