Subcontracting with Another Supplier

HME Business shares insight on what is and is not allowed for subcontracting arrangements in regards to Medicare Advantage Plans (MAPs) and Medicaid Managed Care Plans (MMCPs).

According to HME Business' recent article, a challenge faced by many DME providers is that MAPs and MMCPs (referred to as “plans”) have “closed panels,” meaning the plan concludes that it has a sufficient number of DME suppliers to serve the Plan’s enrollees (“covered lives”) and, therefore, does not let any additional suppliers serve the Plan’s enrollees.

More information on this topic can be found from Jeffrey Baird's recent article in Medtrade, "Accessing Another Supplier’s Commercial Insurance Contract."
